For the past 21 years, I have focused my professional life on the art and science of marriage counseling and sex therapy using the unconventional yet common sense approach based in Bowen Family Systems Theory. I practiced in Georgia for 18 years and now reside in Colorado where I see clients in both states. I offer the convenience of online therapy for my Georgia clients.
My approach is based on the work of Murray Bowen, who is the father of the field of marriage and family counseling. Bowen was a scientist, first and foremost, and he observed the human family to be an ecosystem full of the complex, reciprocal relationships not unlike those found in the natural world. He understood the automatic spread of anxiety from one individual to another to be a major factor in emotional pain and suffering.
Because my approach is based in scientific theory, I have also integrated neurofeedback training to help couples be able to move through relationship issues more quickly, children with learning challenges, and those with chronic medical conditions. We offer in town sessions with Ellen Zucrow, LCSW and we also offer neurofeedback rentals. Please let me know if you are interested in learning more about this profound technology.
I am in Georgia seeing clients twice a year. We will start online, but we will have the opportunity to meet in person on my next trip.
On a more personal note, I’ve been married 18 years, I’m a parent to two teenage daughters, and I’m a small business owner—so the journey to create a meaningful life is one that resonates with me. I want you to get the help that you need to find your own meaning in your life and in your relationships, too. Contact me to find out how!
